Amy & Susana’s Story
Amy Holderby and Susana Goss came to studio domka with a shared vision to create a home design and build company rooted in more honesty, meaning, and purpose. Drawing from their individual cultural and creative backgrounds, and united by a desire to redefine what home truly represents, we partnered to bring their vision to life with thoughtful positioning and a fully custom visual identity.
With careful consideration of the Raleigh context and the ideal Hoss House client who values intention over excess, the final brand captures both the collaborative spirit of its founders and a reverence for the people, places, and stories they seek to serve every day.
Moodboard
The moodboard for Hoss House was rooted in the natural and cultural context of Raleigh, drawing inspiration from the red clay of the land, the deep greens of Appalachia, and the evolving rhythm between city and suburb. Intentional architectural details and elevated finishes were explored to speak to a clientele that values meaning and craftsmanship over material excess. Rich, dark earth tones grounded the palette, while imagery of soil, roots, and raw landscape symbolized the importance of family, story, and place as the foundation of every home they create.
PROCESS
In the coming together of two unique perspectives, lies a shared purpose of more intentional home life.
The Hoss House identity called for a visual symbol that was both strong and simple, capable of representing not only the brand’s ethos but also the individuality of its two founders. By leveraging the letter “H” with intentional overlays and subtle customizations, the marks (representing Susana and Amy, person and place) come together as one. The result is an unexpected yet thoughtful symbol of home, formed at their intersection.
This purposeful brand icon can stand confidently on its own or alongside the Hoss House wordmark, creating a sophisticated and deeply intentional identity for the Raleigh-based brand.
