Susana & Amy’s Story

When designers Susana Goss and Amy Holderby came to studio domka with a shared vision to create (yet another) home design and build company, the enthusiasm (and bursting potential) behind their intention was visceral. Individually bringing their own cultural and creative experiences, and collectively championing behind a powerful mission — to craft more honest expressions of home — studio domka helped actualize Susana and Amy’s new business venture, Hoss House, with powerful positioning and a beautiful, completely customized visual presence. With mindful considerations of the unique Raleigh area context and special attention paid to the Hoss Hoss clientele who value life with purpose over possessions, the final brand result captures both the spirit of its collaborative founders and deeper considerations for the people and places they are in direct relation with every day.

PROCESS

In the coming together of two unique perspectives, lies a shared purpose of more intentional home life.

The Hoss House identity required a strong yet simple visual symbol to embody the powerful ethos of not only the brand itself, but also of both its distinct founders. Leveraging the ‘H’ characters with intentional overlays and customizations, the two marks (representing Susana & Amy and Person & Place) come together as one, forming an unexpected and thoughtful symbol of home at their intersection. The final graphic, a purposeful ligature rooted in meaning, can stand on its own or can be paired with the Hoss House wordmark to exude a sophisticated, deeply meaningful identity for the Raleigh-based brand.
